They were making their final preparations for the wedding:

Mom was helping my sister with her dress and Dad was decorating the room with flowers.

Mamãe ajudava minha irmã com o vestido e papai decorava a sala com flores.

I came to the kitchen to get the cake. Oh, what a splendid cake was! It had three layers, decorated with green and blue flowers and with two small figures on the top.

Eu vim para a cozinha para pegar o bolo. Que esplêndido bolo foi! Tinha três camadas, decoradas com flores verdes e azuis e com duas pequenas figuras no topo.

My Mom and Dad helped me to put the caked on a cart and we took it out of the house.

Minha mãe e meu pai me ajudaram a colocar o endurecido em um carrinho e o levamos para fora da casa.

Suddenly it started raining. We wanted to cover the cake from the rain but the wind blew the cover off.

De repente, começou a chover. Queríamos cobrir o bolo da chuva, mas o vento soprou a tampa.

And you can imagine what happened. The cake was ruined by the rain. Completely!

E você pode imaginar o que aconteceu. O bolo foi arruinado pela chuva. Completamente!
