Gospel st. John 7

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Potem Jezus obchodził Galileję. Nie chciał bowiem chodzić po Judei, bo Żydzi mieli zamiar Go zabić.

Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.

A zbliżało się żydowskie Święto Namiotów.

His brethren therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

Rzekli więc Jego bracia do Niego: Wyjdź stąd i idź do Judei, aby i uczniowie Twoi ujrzeli czyny, których dokonujesz.

For [there is] no man [that] doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world.

Nikt bowiem nie dokonuje niczego w ukryciu, jeżeli chce się publicznie ujawnić. Skoro takich rzeczy dokonujesz, to okaż się światu!

(For neither did his brethren believe in him.)

Bo nawet Jego bracia nie wierzyli w Niego.

Then Jesus said to them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.

Powiedział więc do nich Jezus: Dla Mnie stosowny czas jeszcze nie nadszedł, ale dla was - zawsze jest do rozporządzenia.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.

Was świat nie może nienawidzić, ale Mnie nienawidzi, bo Ja o nim świadczę, że złe są jego uczynki.

Go ye up to this feast: I go not yet to this feast, for my time is not yet full come.

Wy idźcie na święto; Ja jeszcze nie idę na to święto, bo czas mój jeszcze się nie wypełnił.

When he had said these words to them, he abode [still] in Galilee.

To im powiedział i pozostał w Galilei.

But when his brethren had gone up, then he went also to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

Kiedy zaś bracia Jego udali się na święto, wówczas poszedł i On, jednakże nie jawnie, lecz skrycie.

Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

Tymczasem Żydzi już Go szukali w czasie święta i mówili:

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people.

Gdzie On jest? Wśród tłumów zaś wiele mówiono o Nim pokątnie. Jedni mówili: Jest dobry. Inni zaś mówili: Nie, przeciwnie - zwodzi tłumy.

Yet, no man spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.

Nikt jednak nie odzywał się o Nim jawnie z obawy przed Żydami.

Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

Tymczasem dopiero w połowie świąt przybył Jezus do Świątyni i nauczał.

And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Żydzi zdumiewali się mówiąc: W jaki sposób zna On Pisma, skoro się nie uczył?

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Odpowiedział im Jezus mówiąc: Moja nauka nie jest moją, lecz Tego, który Mnie posłał.

If any man will do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God, or [whether] I speak from myself.

Jeśli kto chce pełnić Jego wolę, pozna, czy nauka ta jest od Boga, czy też Ja mówię od siebie samego.

He that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Kto mówi we własnym imieniu, ten szuka własnej chwały. Kto zaś szuka chwały tego, który go posłał, ten godzien jest wiary i nie ma w nim nieprawości.

Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Czyż Mojżesz nie dał wam Prawa? A przecież nikt z was nie zachowuje Prawa, /bo/ czemuż usiłujecie Mnie zabić?

The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee?

Tłum odpowiedział: Jesteś opętany przez złego ducha! Któż usiłuje Cię zabić?

Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

W odpowiedzi Jezus rzekł do nich: Dokonałem tylko jednego czynu, a wszyscy jesteście zdziwieni.

Moses therefore gave to you circumcision, (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.

Oto Mojżesz dał wam obrzezanie - ale nie pochodzi ono od Mojżesza, lecz od przodków - i wy w szabat obrzezujecie człowieka.

If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath?

jeżeli człowiek może przyjmować obrzezanie nawet w szabat, aby nie przekroczono Prawa Mojżeszowego, to dlaczego złościcie się na Mnie, że w szabat uzdrowiłem całego człowieka?

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Nie sądźcie z zewnętrznych pozorów, lecz wydajcie wyrok sprawiedliwy.

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

Niektórzy z mieszkańców Jerozolimy mówili: Czyż to nie jest Ten, którego usiłują zabić?

But lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

A oto jawnie przemawia i nic Mu nie mówią. Czyżby zwierzchnicy naprawdę się przekonali, że On jest Mesjaszem?

But we know this man, whence he is: whereas when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

Przecież my wiemy, skąd On pochodzi, natomiast gdy Mesjasz przyjdzie, nikt nie będzie wiedział, skąd jest.

Then cried Jesus in the temple, as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

A Jezus, ucząc w świątyni, zawołał tymi słowami: I Mnie znacie, i wiecie, skąd jestem. Ja jednak nie przyszedłem sam od siebie; lecz prawdziwy jest Ten, który Mnie posłał, którego wy nie znacie.

But I know him; for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

Ja Go znam, bo od Niego jestem i On Mnie posłał.

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

Zamierzali więc Go pojmać, jednakże nikt nie podniósł na Niego ręki, ponieważ godzina Jego jeszcze nie nadeszła.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this [man] hath done?

Natomiast wielu spośród tłumu uwierzyło w Niego i mówili: Czyż Mesjasz, kiedy przyjdzie, uczyni więcej znaków, niż On uczynił?

The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him: and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

Faryzeusze usłyszeli, że tłum tak mówił o Nim w podnieceniu. Kapłani więc wraz z faryzeuszami wysłali strażników celem pojmania Go.

Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and [then] I go to him that sent me.

Ale Jezus rzekł: Jeszcze krótki czas jestem z wami, a potem pójdę do Tego, który Mnie posłał.

Ye will seek me, and will not find [me]: and where I am, [thither] ye cannot come.

Będziecie Mnie szukać, a nie znajdziecie, a tam, gdzie Ja będę potem, wy pójść nie możecie.

Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

Rzekli Żydzi do siebie: Dokąd to zamierza On pójść, że Go nie będziemy mogli znaleźć? Czyżby miał zamiar udać się do Żydów rozproszonych wśród Greków i uczyć Greków?

What [manner of] saying is this that he said, Ye will seek me, and will not find [me]: and where I am, [thither] ye cannot come?

Cóż znaczy to Jego powiedzenie: Będziecie Mnie szukać i nie znajdziecie, a tam, gdzie Ja będę, wy pójść nie możecie?

In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsteth, let him come to me, and drink.

W ostatnim zaś, najbardziej uroczystym dniu święta, Jezus stojąc zawołał donośnym głosem: Jeśli ktoś jest spragniony, a wierzy we Mnie - niech przyjdzie do Mnie i pije!

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Jak rzekło Pismo: Strumienie wody żywej popłyną z jego wnętrza.

(But this he spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet [given], because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

A powiedział to o Duchu, którego mieli otrzymać wierzący w Niego; Duch bowiem jeszcze nie był /dany/, ponieważ Jezus nie został jeszcze uwielbiony.

Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, In truth this is the Prophet.

A wśród słuchających Go tłumów odezwały się głosy: Ten prawdziwie jest prorokiem.

Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come out of Galilee?

Inni mówili: To jest Mesjasz. Ale - mówili drudzy - czyż Mesjasz przyjdzie z Galilei?

Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

Czyż Pismo nie mówi, że Mesjasz będzie pochodził z potomstwa Dawidowego i z miasteczka Betlejem?

So there was a division among the people because of him.

I powstało w tłumie rozdwojenie z Jego powodu.

And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

Niektórzy chcieli Go nawet pojmać, lecz nikt nie odważył się podnieść na Niego ręki.

Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him?

Wrócili więc strażnicy do arcykapłanów i faryzeuszów, a ci rzekli do nich: Czemuście Go nie pojmali?

The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.

Strażnicy odpowiedzieli: Nigdy jeszcze nikt nie przemawiał tak, jak ten człowiek przemawia.

Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived?

Odpowiedzieli im faryzeusze: Czyż i wy daliście się zwieść?

Have any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him?

Czy ktoś ze zwierzchników lub faryzeuszów uwierzył w Niego?

But this people who know not the law are cursed.

A ten tłum, który nie zna Prawa, jest przeklęty.

Nicodemus saith to them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them)

Odezwał się do nich jeden spośród nich, Nikodem, ten, który przedtem przyszedł do Niego:

Doth our law judge [any] man before it heareth him, and knoweth what he doeth?

Czy Prawo nasze potępia człowieka, zanim go wpierw przesłucha, i zbada, co czyni?

They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

Odpowiedzieli mu: Czy i ty jesteś z Galilei? Zbadaj, zobacz, że żaden prorok nie powstaje z Galilei.

And every man went to his own house.

I rozeszli się - każdy do swego domu.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Zamierzali więc Go pojmać, jednakże nikt nie podniósł na Niego ręki, ponieważ godzina Jego jeszcze nie nadeszła.
