Camera

A device with a lens for exposing a light-sensitive surface to an image to create a negative.

Dageurrotype

The camera uses a metal plate coated with light-sensitive material, then fixed with chemicals.

Negative-Print

The camera uses glass or plastic film coated with light-sensitive material, creating a negative chemically and allowing for positive images to appear and be repeatedly printed.

Calotype

A type of negative-print made from paper, even resembling the texture.

Wet-Plate

The camera uses wet glass negatives to capture an image, then prints the image onto albumen paper.
